It feels like I’ve been floating on a cloud all day.

First, waking up in bed next to him. Then the shower sex and breakfast. I didn’t even mind being plucked and made up. It had felt like I was being pampered.

“Ready?” I ask, reaching over and squeezing Axton’s hand as the valet steps forward and opens our door.

He gives me a forced smile but nods, letting my hand drop as he steps out of the limo and onto the red carpet. I climb out after him, making sure my dress isn’t caught as I close the door. When I turn back around, Axton is already a couple of paces ahead of me and one of the event assistants is ushering me over to where the other personal assistants are waiting at the end of the carpet.

I wait in the background, watching as he goes down the red carpet, stopping at each designated spot to pose. From there, he goes to one interview to another and then over to the fence to sign autographs and take pictures with fans.

It’s hot out and by the time he’s making his way back to me for the start of the premiere, I’m flushed and hungry. I smile as he nods at some of his co-stars on his way to me.

“Did you want popcorn or anything?” He asks as he leads me inside the theater.

“Do you even have to ask?” I say with a laugh as I let him lead me over to the concession stand. He grabs us a popcorn and two waters and we hurry into the theater to grab our seats before the movie starts.

Our seats are in the middle of the theater and we have to push past some people to reach

our assigned seats. I apologize as I step on someone's toes and sigh as I finally collapse into my seat. Axton grumbles as he takes the seat next to me and passes me a bottle of water and the popcorn.

“Thanks,” I say, turning to look toward the front as the director and his wife make their way on stage.

They start their speech about what a labor of love this movie was and I smile as I see the way he looks lovingly at his wife. She wrote it and he directed and he thanks her as the lights start to dim. As they kiss, I hear Axton make a disgusted noise deep in his throat and I turn to look at him, raising one eyebrow.

“Bet they’ll be divorced in two years.”

“No way! They seem so in love,” I argue back as I watch the director lead his wife to their seats.

“Yeah right. Relationships like that are a lie. Only an idiot would date in Hollywood,” he sneers.

Something trickles down my spine and I turn slowly to study Axton as the lights go down and the opening credits start to roll.

“Then what are we?” I whisper and he turns to look at me like I’m crazy.

“What do you mean?”

“If only idiots date in Hollywood, then what are we?”

“We’re not dating.
